Wonders of South America

Just within the past couple of weeks there has been an increase in people coming in to ask about journeys to South America. Indeed tourism in South America is booming as we have all got sick and tired of going to Europe all the time, and we all yearn for something different - very different.
Although everything is interesting and in a way "must see" there are some absolute MUST-SEE places in South America when one visits. And they are the below:
1. Machu Pichu and the Inca Trail - this is iconic of South America and the ancient Inca culture and almost every tourist going into Peru will step on the journey to see the lost city.
2. The Amazon - lots of mysteries surround the Amazon, including the recent "lost tribes" that ended up as a hoax still raises questions on what exactly do we really know about whats deep in the Amazons of South America?
3. Iguazu Falls - One of the world's most greatest waterfalls, the Iguazu borders Argentina and Brazil and is visited by hundreds of visitors a day.
4. Angel Falls - The world's tallest waterfall, although not as grand in scale as the Iguazu, the Angel Falls in Venezuela is still a breath gasping sight.
5. Galapagos Islands - an intense wildlife experience. Enough said.
6. The Patagonia - to be as close to the Antarctic as you can without actually leaving the continent. This is one place top on my next to do list.
7. Lake Titicaca - the world's largest lake above 2000m sea level. Numerous indigenous tribes still live on the lake and it is famous for the reed islands that we see in postcards.
And of course, besides these historical and natural wonders, South America is known for many of its festivals full of beautiful feathered clothes and dancing. From Salsa to Samba to Tango you'll find music streaming onto the streets of cities and towns and it's simply too hard to not to love the atmosphere.
