New York, New York

My manager has just came back from a trip to the United States of America and have reported that she had a fabulous time in New York (while the rest of us slaved away in the store for 3 weeks)
Although I never had much interest in the USA as a travel destination, (having been there three times visiting relatives, it didn't really appeal to me) she has reported that the next time I go, I must pay a visit to the Big Apple.
Why?
Well - as much as it is a concrete jungle as it seems - New York is apparently so well built for tourism it's like being on a movie set in real life. It is extremely crowded, yes, but at the same time, it's not a bad crowd. Different parts of New York has its different characters and you'll find the world all squished into this city you'd think you have been in Mexico and China all in one day.
Then there is Central Park. A place to get away from it all, and it's not a gimmick. It's so beautiful our Hyde Park now according to her, feels more like an abandoned backyard rather than a park.
From New York you can hop on a train and visit nearby cities, including Washington DC. The place is full of museums and things to do and is only about 4 hours train ride away. Of course, if you are into museums you should plan to stay over night there.
If you don't have much time to go all the way to New York consider Las Vegas - although superficial, there is always something going on - you'll find all the shows and concerts you would in Las Vegas as if in New York and it's just absolutely glamorous.
Perhaps the next time I pass by the northern Americas I should pop by. I have been to Las Vegas, maybe it's time to give New York a fair go.
