The Pullman - Kuching, Sarawak
Link: www.pullmankuching.com/
We stayed at the Pullman in Kuching, a new-ish hotel (opened late 2009) on a small hill top right close to the centre. The rate was AU$70 per room per night which was fantastic, and the room was large and comfortable with great floor to ceiling windows that mostly has good views.I especially like the decor of the rooms, and the bathroom has seperate showers and bath with a very tasteful design.
Everything was clean, with free Wifi internet in the lobby and three dining venues to choose from, as a hotel there wasn't that much to fault. We did find however, the staff a little distant, and the check in process had no rapport building at all. In comparison to Le Meridien in KK where the staff would be smiling and looking after you all the time, at the Pullman in Kuching the staff did what was required of them, and that was it.
We had a flight to catch at 6am and asked for a wake up call at 4am. This never came. Thankfully Will had set his alarm on his mobile phone, otherwise we would've missed the flight!
We didn't have the buffet breakfast included in our rate, however I found someone else in the blogger-sphere who has, he also has photos to show:

Overall, I would give this hotel another go when I am in Kuching again, however as a five star hotel, there is definitely room for improvement.
Overall rating (for the standard of hotel it is): 7/10 <- lost points on lack of enthusiasm, lack of rapport and the missed morning wake up call.
