December digest from me
Greetings from Cambodia!
So the world didn't end. Hooray.
I hope you've had a great festive season and you didn't drink/eat too much. I spent Christmas day sick in bed with an upset stomach, but not even that stopped me from exploring everything about this fascinating country with a tragic past.
I am currently sitting at my resort in Kep, a little seaside town popular with local tourists from Phnom Penh for their weekend getaway. It's famous for its blue swimmer crabs, which I had three all to myself fresh from the sea for USD3, the feisty little things nipped me as I was picking them out of the basket, but the one that drew blood tasted the best
I have been writing about my trip on Footprints and Memories, which I hope you'll visit and have a read. The latest stories are always on the big pictorial banner, which you have to actually click on the numbers on the top right hand corner to go through (I can't get the auto-slidee to work).
Other than that, I've had three articles on Worldette, as I talked about Avoiding Spending Christmas with my Family, introduced the Mermaids of Jeju Island and the awareness we traveller should have when travelling in non-English speaking countries. One more will be online on the 31 December.
If you like the articles, please do leave a comment on Worldette. My editor would very much love that.
We'll be heading into Phnom Penh to celebrate the turning of the new years then to Kuala Lumpur for some R&R before heading home.
More stories to come, and I'll keep you posted.
