It's all song and dance in Vienna

The capital of Austria is where music lovers congregate to catch some of the best operas, theatres, symphony performances and even street performances. The city worships many composers such as Mozart and Strauss, whose Blue Danube is still one of the most performed piece in Austria.
It is, extremely overrun by tourists but step out of the main areas near the famous St Stephen's Cathedra (which is not to be missed) you can still find some peace and quiet where the university students laze about contemplating on their studies. The whole place is pretty pedestrian friendly and the tram is excellent to get around to further areas.
A famous castle in Vienna, Schloss Schoenbrunn is the summer palace of The Habsburgs, and is painted in their little daughter's favourite colour - the baby poo yellow - I am serious, there is such a colour. During the summer small concerts are held here with music and ballet infused with a little humour that can be viewed for around 40 Euros per person. The garden is a magnificent place too, with its own little labrynth and a summer sitting room at the top of the hill - an excellent example of the wealth of the Habsburgs.
A very long time ago - I wrote a post on Famous Cemeteries, one of which is in Vienna, where Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms and Schoenberg all have memorial tombs here (all musicians!).
Spring and Summer are great times to visit Austria although if you are a winter person I would strongly recommend a visit to Vienna (or any other Germanic countries) during December. The Christmasmarkets they put on puts a different perspective on christmas and has really great atmospheres.
